Tiger Woods is taking an indefinite leave from pro golf to try to salvage his marriage to Elin Nordegren following reports of his alleged extramarital affairs. But online gamers should still be able to tee it up with the world's No. 1 golfer courtesy of EA Sports.
The company is moving forward with this month's scheduled launch of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Online, President Peter Moore said in a statement. The new browser-based golf game has been in closed beta testing for eight months and is available here. More than 75,000 people have played and participated.
With sponsors such as AT&T and Accenture recently dropping Woods, Moore said he wanted to "shed some light" on why EA is continuing its business relationship with its embattled endorser.
