Perm, 3rd July, 2014 – From 27th to 29th June 2014, this year’s ‘Tanki-Con’ took place in Lower Franconia, Central Germany. The second long-awaited community weekend for players of the arcade browser game, ‘Tanki Online’ gave fans the opportunity to meet outside the chatrooms and to have a conversation in real life surrounded by the breathtaking Germanic countryside!
In 2013, a group of enthusiastic Tanki Online players met for a camping weekend. This year saw over 50 tankers gather from Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Germany, and one even came all the way from the Philippines!
Over the weekend, tankers took part in a variety of activities including a visit to the Bundeswehrmuseum (Military History Museum), the filming of video blogs and interviews, an orientation game featuring Tanki Online branded compasses and a Tanki themed quiz that took place on the road, a community BBQ, and finally a presentation on how Tanki Online has evolved over the last year, what’s happening in the studio right now, and what is to come in the future. Tankers were able to ask questions and were then treated to a preview glimpse of the new version of Tanki Online running on Unity for the first time!
Tanki-Con attendees left the event with a bundle of Tanki goodies including T-shirts, mugs, compasses and certificates. All participants had a wonderfully exciting and entertaining time and are already looking forwards to next year’s event!
Tanki-Con is a non-commercial event. All amounts paid up front are strictly to cover costs. Organisers and helpers of the event work on voluntary basis.
