Hamburg, July 10, 2013. InnoGames just released a video detailing a recent Game Jam at its Hamburg-headquarters, packed with 48 hours-worth of game making fun with 80 programmers, designers and graphic artists alike. The video is currently up on YouTube
The buzz for InnoGames Game Jam 5 was bigger than its four predecessors – over 80 creative minds were drawn together at the InnoGames studios to create games incorporating the theme "violence". The participants were assembled into teams, each taking a different spin on the theme, with most opting for an ironic tone to the controversial topic. A total of 18 games were presented on late Sunday afternoon. Many platforms and genres were represented, from a classic 2D jump-and-run, to a shooter and a mobile card game.
The Android title "Papzilla" scored first place amongst the competition. All of the game's graphics were drawn on paper, and then integrated into the smartphone app, creating a very handmade look. Second place went to "Garden Party", a title in which players assume the role of a lawnmower wreaking havoc on a neighborhood. Classic 2D shooter "Diagnostic Woilenz" took third place.
With more than 100 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world's leading developers and publishers of online games. The Hamburg-based company has scored major successes with games such as Tribal Wars, Forge of Empires and Grepolis. Currently, InnoGames boasts 230 employees from more than 20 nations, and expects to reach near 300 by the end of the year.
