InnoGames' strategy title rewarded as "Best Browsergame" and the 50,000 Euro Prize will be split amongst the employees
Hamburg - April 25, 2013 - The jury of the "Deutscher Computerspielepreis" (German Computer Game Award) has named InnoGames' strategy title Forge of Empires the "Best Browsergame" in a big ceremony yesterday evening in Berlin. The game of the German company won the prize over Skylancer: Battle for Horizon (Chimera Entertainment) and The Great Jitters - Haunted Hunt (kunst-stoff). Upon announcing the winner, the jury remarked that "as opposed to some other online games, Forge of Empires' players have weeks of fun even if they are not paying. The best browser game 2013 convinced us in terms of technic, graphic, gameplay and gaming fun to the highest extent."
"We are extremely happy and very proud that we won this award. This is a tribute to our hard working team", says InnoGames CEO Hendrik Klindworth. "The 'Computerspielepreis' is rightly regarded as one of the most prestigious awards of the German video games industry. The jury's expert opinion is another relevant confirmation of the quality of our work - next to the great feedback of the Forge of Empires's community," he reveals. With over six million registrations after half a year, Forge of Empires ranked amongst the best starts for a browser based game worldwide in 2012. The trophy money of 50,000 Euros will be given to the InnoGames employees.
