Topia Island, the brand new Casual Browser Game from Bytro Labs, received two awards in this year's "MMO of the Year" awards, including the Jury Prize in the category "Best Indie Game" and the Audience Award in the category "Best Innovation". The awards acknowledge the engaging game design as well as the innovative realization of the game.
The "MMO of the Year" award which, until two years ago, was named "Browser Game of the Year" is regarded the most important award for online games. After Supremacy 1914 in 2009, Topia Island is now the second game by Bytro Labs to win this prestigious prize. Topia Island had been nominated in three categories. It received the awards only two months after its official open beta release. The prize as the "Best Indie Game" of 2013 was awarded by an independent jury of industry professionals, journalists, and experienced players. The prize for "Best Innovation" was awarded through popular vote among players on the award website.
