"Topia Island", the brand new casual browser game by online games developer Bytro Labs, has been nominated in three categories at this year's "MMO of the Year" awards, held by mmofacts.com and GameGenetics. That makes it the most nominated game of the year. Besides a nomination for "Best Casu al Browser MMO", it also received nods for "Best Indie Game" and for "Best Innovation", paying tribute to its pioneering role in the use of HTML5 technology.
The nominations were announced last week on mmofacts. The inclusion in the "Best Innovation" category did not come as a surprise due to the unique use of HTML5 along with its cross-platform compatibility. For that reason, "Topia Island" is already playable on all current tablet computers without any major adaptations.
"Topia Island", the innovative casual browser game from Bytro Labs, is about a peaceful group of people who are starting a new life on the serene island Topia. Building houses and schools, harvesting fields, and buildi ng a working economy are their goal. Until they meet the opposition of the evil Empire. Interested players can find the game at http://www.topiaisland.com.
Besides an independent jury that will decide the jury award, the audience can vote for their favorite in each category and award an audience prize. The voting on http://www.mmooftheyear.com begins January 15 and ends February 15, 2013, with the announcement of the winners.
