Video game publisher Square Enix has recently announced a new browser-based RPG game named Legend World, which is designed to allow players to fight the classic Final Fantasy monsters.

Gamers will be able to create their own avatar and then customize it before taking the field to do battle with a number of classic enemies like Cactaurs and Bombs. According to Square Enix. more monsters will be added after the game's official launch.

The game is said to run on Stage 3D and Flash to make for some rather colourful and impressive visuals, but there are also a range of lower-spec modes if you want a less intensive experience. The game will enter closed beta in 2013 across Japan, with no Western release announced.
