In Cambodia, there is a 40-year-old man named Sok Thoeun, who is being pursued by authorities after reportedly beating and chaining his 13-year-old son, Sok Khorn, to a pole for playing video games at an Internet cafe instead of going to school.

According to the deputy provincial police chief Colonel Cheth Vanny, when this man found his son, he began beating his son brutally, and then shackled him. After that, he put chains around the boy's neck and legs and locked him to a power pole on a nearby street in the village, in order to show [his son] to the public,
The Bangkok Post reports police got a locksmith to free the child, but by that time his father had returned to work as a motorbike taxi driver, and eventually fled the scene.
The man is still on the run now, and AFB reports the man is now wanted on child abuse charges.
