The "Best Browser Game of the Year 2011" event has already come to an end. We are glad that the event has attracted the attention and participation of so many gamers, and we also would like to extend our thanks to game makers which have given great support to the event.

But we are really sorry that vote cheating occurred during the last few days of the event, which resulted in abnormal ranking results of some awards. This annual event aims to recommend the best-quality and most potential browser games to the gamers who not only can vote for their favorite games, but also can select games based on the award results. We hope both game makers and gamers can cast votes in an honest way, instead of increasing ranking through cheating. After all, what matters most to us is the quality but not the ranking.

We have been and will always try our best to make this event a just and fair one, and vote cheating is strictly prohibited. In order to ensure the results are fair, our technicians have carefully checked the voting data obtained during the event. Since vote cheating occurred when the event almost came to an end, the rankings for the Most Popular Game, Best New Game and Favorite Strategy Game awards are based on the votes received till three days before the event ended (Jan. 7th 0:00 PST), while other awards will still be subject to the final votes obtained until the end of the event.

After a careful analysis, our technicians provided the following data relating to vote cheating:

Through comparison, we found that in the last several minutes before the event ended, Sword Girl, Shadowland Online and Rich$tate received a large number of votes. And our background data shows that, during this period, each of these three games received over 30 votes per second and it occurred in an intermittent way, a cheating program extremely suspected to be used.

Notes: You may notice that the final votes we posted with the deadline of 16:00 pm on Jan. 10, 2012 (PST) are less than the votes listed on the event page. This is normal, since all the abnormal data has been cleared by our technicians.

The final rankings for this year's event are only for your reference. Next year, we will enhance our precautionary measures so as to avoid the happening of such accident.
