LAND O'LAKES, FLORIDA - November 30, 2011 – Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that creates and publishes download-free, browser-based games played by over 130 million registered players, today released the new AdventureQuest Worlds 2012 calendar. The calendar is now available at U.S. Toys "R" Us stores and the Artix merchandise website www.heromart.com.
It features art from the hit MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds with each month depicting a different scene from the game and noting all major in-game holidays and birthdays. That is, each month except December.
Centuries ago, Mayan astronomers predicted that the world would come to an end in December of 2012. The AQWorlds calendar foretells the in-game end of the world as well.
Adam Bohn, Founder/CEO of Artix Entertainment jokingly said, "It's the last calendar you will ever need!"
The December calendar spread shows a stunning image of Drakath, a major villain of AdventureQuest Worlds, channeling Chaos energy through a portal into our world. The energy is so strong that it seems to be burning through the bottom half of December, leaving nothingness behind. But, just in case the Mayans were wrong, the AE team happily included a second December page without any scorch marks!
Aside from the decimated December, each calendar also comes with an exclusive code and playing card. The code will unlock the powerful Chrono Corruptor player class in-game at www.AQ.com. The class will feature never-before seen abilities and will come with an additional armor. The bonus playing card features art of the Chrono Corruptor class and will make a powerful addition to an AdventureQuest Worlds: The Anything Goes Battle On Battle Card Game deck. Both the class and the playing card are obtained exclusively with the purchase of the AdventureQuest Worlds 2012 calendar.
To purchase the calendar, visit a U.S. Toys "R" Us store near you or purchase directly from AE's merchandising website at www.HeroMart.com.
