A new free-to-play browser game called Global Resistance has just been launched by Insomniac Games. As a means of complementing the upcoming launch of Resistance 3, Global Resistance is a online strategy game set against mankind's final stand in the Resistance Universe.

This game isn't quite a separate venture from the main Resistance series on the PS3. Instead, Global Resistance will compliment Resistance 3, by allowing you to unlock skins and XP boosters. Players take control of either the human race or the Chimera alien race in a constant world war. Troops can be deployed anywhere in the world to aid your side in battle, while it's also possible to build up your own base and complete side-missions for extra experience points.
