Hamburg, May 12. Today InnoGames recorded the 40-millionth player-registration for the browser game Tribal Wars. The classic online-game is in its eighth year, has an active, devoted community and is constantly being developed further by InnoGames. At present, the game runs on Version 7.1.
However, this success was not planned from the beginning. In 2003, Hendrik Klindworth - together with his brother Eike and his friend Michael Zillmer - developed their first browser game: Tribal Wars. It was supposed to remain a hobby project, playable for some few friends, but it turned out to be one of the biggest browser games ever.
In Tribal Wars, the player starts as leader of a small village, striving for power and glory. In order to build a strong empire and conquer other villages, it is crucial to find powerful allies and to found a mighty tribe. Its huge game worlds and varied tactical opportunities made Tribal Wars one of the most popular browser-based games all over the world, playable in 34 languages.
InnoGames has developed major browser game titles like Tribal Wars, The West and Grepolis. With more than 60 million registered users, the German company ranks amongst the biggest developers and publishers of online games.
