Travian: Christmas Truce 2008

Hi All,

As most of you have seen by now, the "Christmas Truce Poll" turned out pretty heavily in favor of taking the Christmas truce. Given that, we will be having the truce for Christmas this year. The times will be as follows:

Truce and no-starvation start: 12:00pm EST 24-Dec-2008 (09:00am PST 24-Dec-2008)

Truce end: 12:00am EST 26-Dec-2008 (9:00pm PST 25-Dec-2008)

No-starvation end: 12:00am EST 27-Dec-2008 (9:00pm PST 26-Dec-2008)

In normal terms that means the truce will occur for half the day on the 24th, and all day/night on the 25th. No-starvation will then continue all day/night on the 26th.

NOTE: US5 will be excluded from the truce since they will be busy building their World Wonders at that time.

Here are some points to remember:

• During the period of no-starvation, wheat will still be consumed, however once your on-hand wheat reaches zero it will simply stop and no troops will starve.
  
• Attacks sent prior to the truce will still land, but will not do damage.
  
• During the truce, the system will allow you to send attacks, however when the attacks land they will only bring a Christmas greeting and do not damage.
  
• Scouting and reins are exempt from this, and should work as usual.
  
• Attacks sent during the truce but landing after the truce will work as normal.
  
• You should not be able to attack any oasis (nature or player owned). NOTE: Tech Support was not 100% sure on this, so keep that in mind.
